Woodlands School Statement of Purpose 2016/2017
•The main aim of the school is to constantly seek enhanced educational, social and behavioural outcomes for its pupils via a continual process of self-evaluation and improvement.
•The vision of Woodlands School is an holistic approach to the education and care of young people.
•Woodlands is an extended school catering for the needs of boys and young men aged between 11 and 19 years.
•We provide a safe, welcoming and supportive environment designed to nurture and develop the skills and strengths of each young person as individuals.
•In addition to core and basic subjects we offer an extensive enrichment curriculum, tailored to individual interests, strengths and needs.
•Every young person is offered the opportunity to take nationally recognised qualifications in both academic and non-academic subjects.
•We have a post compulsory education programme of individual learning packages consisting of combinations of Woodlands School 6th form, including GCSE re-sit opportunities and A Level courses, local college placements for taster sessions, part time and fulltime courses, works experience placements and volunteering. Students are supported in college and work placements by our staff.
